Loft Conversion, Westcliff-on-sea

I began with my own home. I decided that the spaces I created and the rooms I decorated would focus on natural materials and non-toxic products. It has been a journey of growth, exploration and experimentation. I have used natural cork flooring throughout the loft conversion, paired with natural wool insulation, wood chip plaster board, lime plaster and lime paint. I was determined to create a breathable environment as too many loft spaces are sealed boxes that are unbearable in the heat in summer. The choice of natural breathable materials allows air to move freely so the loft space feels airy and cool in summer, while still retaining heat in winter.
